From the shady front porch, you step into a bright foyer. The first bedroom is on the left, with an ensuite bathroom and floor to ceiling closet – perfect for a guest room or office. To the right of the front door is the spacious living room, which faces the street and is perfectly set up with a big cozy couch, wide screen TV, and piano – perfect for curling up for movie or music nights. The open-format dining room and designer kitchen is the sunny heart of the house – open to the front living room, the back bedrooms, the central stairs, and the playroom and backyard. The dining area has a six-person dining table, plus counter seating facing the kitchen. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with tons of storage and counter space, and (our favorite feature!) a compost bin built into a spacious central island for super easy chopping and prepping. All new appliances, including dishwasher, fridge, Bertazzoni gas range and hood, and built-in wine cooler – to keep all of your favorite bottles at the right temp.
Just past the kitchen, a few steps lead down to a roomy playroom and laundry area, with long countertop and built-in shelving. This sunny bonus space has french doors that open out to the backyard.
Off of the kitchen, just to the left of the main staircase, are the second bedroom and second bathroom. This updated full bathroom has a shower over tub and new vanity. The bedroom currently has a twin bed trundle bed, which could be used as a king – and could easily fit a queen-size bed.
Half-way up the central staircase, on its own small landing, is the third bedroom, with an awesome lofted queen bed. The extra-large closet in this room has an elevated floor with a short step ladder, and would be perfect for a kid’s library or play spot.
At the top of the stairs is an office, with built-in desk, shelving, and storage. Just past the office area is the serene primary bedroom, with cathedral ceilings, king size bed, and enormous walk-in closet. The primary bathroom is dreamy, with double sinks, separate water closet, and designer glass shower with skylight.
The sunny, fenced backyard has something for everyone! Comfy outdoor furniture, raised planter beds with irrigation, gas grill, outdoor dining area, and last but not least – a hot tub, for those year-round cool California nights.
Fantastic Fernside location, just 3 blocks to beloved Edison Elementary, Lincoln Park, and the High Street bridge to Oakland. Easy trip to all the amazing Alameda shops, restaurants, parks, and beaches.
