This home was built in 1916 and is a wonderful blend of original vintage accents and fully modern upgrades (including central heat, solar panels, double paned windows, radiant floor heating, and nest thermostat – just to name a few!)
From the wide, tree lined street, the house sits back a bit, with a manicured front yard, handsome garage doors, and geometric pavers for the driveway and side path leading to the rear yard. A flight of steps leads to the front porch and original front door with leaded glass window. You step into a wide foyer with columns separating it from the large living room to the left. A door to the first bedroom is also off this spacious foyer. The living room has original wood wainscotting and is anchored by a decorative fireplace with lovely built-in bookshelves and a delicate original chandelier. There is a wall of windows looking out over the front yard. The living room opens to a large dining room with the same period woodwork and another lovely built-in buffet with pretty leaded glass accents. At the back of the dining room, a doorway connects the eating area to a bright, modern kitchen that is tricked out for any home chef’s wishes! With it’s black and white checkered floors, quartz countertops, deep sink with handy pot rack above, gas stove, dishwasher, and tons of cabinet and counter space, meal prep will be a snap. On the right side of the kitchen, an open staircase leads downstairs to the lower bedroom, laundry, interior access to the garage, and lovely backyard.
The upstairs bedrooms in the house are all along the right side. From the kitchen near the top of the stairway, a doorway leads to the central hallway and hall bathroom, which is fully updated with standing shower and new toilet and vanity. On the right of the hall bath is the front bedroom, wich also has a doorway out to the foyer and front door. It’s large and serene, with ample closet and large windows. On the left side of the hall bath is a double bedroom or master suite, depending on your needs. You first enter into a large, bright room that could be an office, yoga studio, or nursery. Three stairs at the back of the room lead up to a rear master bedroom, with gas fireplace, french doors out to a private rear deck, and huge spa-like bathroom. The rear wooden deck has lovely views, and also looks out over the backyard and office. The bathroom is has chic tiling, a standing shower, a deep custom tub, and sunny skylight.
The third (fourth?!) bedroom is off the landing downstairs. It is also large and bright, with good sized closet and patio doors leading out to a covered patio, mossy geometric pathway, and built in benches. NOTE: There is a small in-law unit directly under the front stairs, which is fully sound-proofed and has only one shared wall with the downstairs room. It is currently occupied by a travelling nurse. There is no shared space with the upstairs, including outdoor or laundry.
